The atypical management of twin pregnancy ( IVF-ET) after the miscarriage of the first fetus. Case report

Rezumat: We present the case of a 42 years old patient with twins pregnancy obtained by in vitro fertilization who is admitted to the hospital at 15 weeks for cervical incompetence. Clinical examination revealed the amniotic sac of the first fetus. During the cerclage procedure a spontaneous rupture of the amniotic membranes occured with the abortion of a 15 weeks fetus and the ceclage was no longer performed. The ombilical cord was ligatured. After 6 hours from the intervention an appreciable bleeding occured and the placenta of the first fetus was extracted. At 48 hours cervical cerclage was done for the remaining intrauterine fetus. The pregnancy continue up to 33 weeks when a live female fetus weighing 2090g was extracted by C-section.
