Rezumat: The 9 months of pregnancy are crowned at the end with the
birth, and then the encounter between the mother
and the
newborn. The link created during the 9 intrauterine months
should be strengthened after birth. Thus, the concept
of
the Magic Hour appeared. The World Health Organization,
together with other organizations
concerned with obstetrics
and neonatology, have repeatedly highlighted
the countless
benefits of this practice.
This paper presents the main international
studies and their results on skin-to-skin contact immediately
postpartum,
in order to increase the application of
this practice
also in maternities on the territory of Romania Cuvinte cheie: Magical Hour, skin-to-skin, newborn, breastfeed.
