The effect of uterine artery embolization in the treatment of benign uterine pathology

Rezumat: This study analyzes the favorable effect of fibroid embolization therapy. Are reviewed pathological aspects of embolization, its effects on vascular fibroids, technical details, and presentation of cases. Embolization is needed especially in primary interventions - in which either reduces fibroid volume or regresses to extinction. Embolization can be also in as adjunctive therapy in conservative surgery to reduce the number of interventions radical (total hysterectomy) in favor of conservative as myomectomy or myometrectomy. The evolution of technology can achieve a tissue-targeted embolization miomatos.
