I. Filipescu, M. Berteanu, G.A. Filipescu, R. Vladareanu

Rezumat: Low dorsalgia associated with pregnancy is an important but often neglected pathology that may have a potentially ne ga tive impact on quality of life, with an estimated in ci dence rate of 60-70%. Dorsalgias that occurred du ring pregnancy and during the confinement have been known and recognized for centuries, being described by Hip po cra tes, Vesalius, Pinean and Hunter. In1962, Walde was the first to recognize and dif ferentiate pelvic pain from lum bar pain. The prevalence of preg nan cy associated with inferior dorsalgia is higher in the third trimester when pos tural changes and weight increase oc cur. Submaximal ma ter nal exercise does not adversely af fect fetal heart rate. No studies în pregnant women have shown that mild exer cise would cause fetal impairment. The be ne fits of me dical rehabilitation vary depending on the age of the preg nan cy, the period of confinement, and the aim is to re duce pain, increase functionality and limit disability.
Cuvinte cheie: dorsalgia, medical rehabilitation, kinetotherapy, pregnancy, confinement.
