I.A. Horhoianu, V.V. Horhoianu, D. Joiţa, B. Dorobăţ, M. Cîrstoiu

Rezumat: Uterine artery embolization is an interventional radiology minimally invasive technique. It represents a treatment option for cervical ectopic pregnancies by means of devascularization and resorbtion. An elevated value of human chorionic gonadotrophin among others has a negative impact on embolization succes. Its failure depends on the type of embolization particles and the existence of utero-ovarian anastomoses. The association of embolization and methotrexate therapy is helpful by having and additive effect; repeat embolizations are safe and increase the therapeutic outcome.
Cuvinte cheie: pregnancy, cervical, ectopic, embolization, particles, anastomoses, gonadotrophin, methotrexate, repeat embolization.
