I.M. Conea, G.O. Olaru, G. Anton, A.D. Stănescu, L. Pleș

Rezumat: Our country reports one of the highest incidence in Europe of teenage pregnancy, the official incidence being about 39.7 per 1,000 live births. This is correlated with rural socioeconomic status and poor education and disorganized family environment. The retrospective study conducted between 2013-2015 in ”Bucur” Maternity revealed an incidence of teenage pregnancy (12-18 years) of 3.86%, most young women living in rural areas. None of these patients received prenatal care in pregnancy. Most of these pregnant women came from rural areas and only 2 of them were enrolled in school. We noted that in 5 cases patients presented stillbirth. The way of birth registered a high incidence of caesarean section (62%) in the majority of situations due to fetal dystocia. In psychosocial terms, motherhood that occures at very young ages can have a negative effect on women due to school dropout, high probability of living in poverty and unemployment. At the same time, children from minor mothers are more likely to become teenage parents themselves.
Cuvinte cheie: prenatal care, teenage, caesarean delivery.
