The outcome of the assisted reproductive technology (in vitro stimulation) in polycystic ovary syndrome phenotypes

L. Luchian, B. Marinescu

Rezumat: Polycystic ovary syndrome is probably the most common endocrine condition in women of reproductive age. Because of its clinical consequences, this syndrome represents an important health problem. There is no international consensus about diagnostic criteria. Also, there is a significant disagreement between obstetricians and endocrinologists on diagnosis. A study was conduted to investigate if there were any changes in outcomes of in vitro fertilization (IVF) secondary to polycystic ovary phenoype. This retrospective study was conducted in “Columna Medical Center” Bucharest, an infertility clinic, between Octomber 2013 and June 2016. A number of 160 patients were included. All of them underwent IVF treatment. The stimulation protocoles were not influenced by PCOS phenotypes, but the doses were influenced. Also, the number of oocyte varied, but the final IVF outcome was not influenced by the phenotypes.
