Who wins the battle between man and germs?

D. Stan, M. Mitran

Rezumat: We tend to ignore or consider less important what we generally cannot see. This was the case with germs throughout many years; these tiny, invisible by naked eye organisms that have been discovered since 1676 by the Dutch scientist Antonie van Leeuwenhoek. Practically, he was one of the first to develop a powerful enough microscope which was able to see the unusual microorganisms moving frantically within the analyzed solution. Those were the first germs ever seen up until that moment, which van Leeuwenhoek named with fascination ”animalcule”, i.e. little animals.
Cuvinte cheie: germs, antibiotics, bacteria.
