Rezumat: Tuberculosis is one of the most common infectious diseases,
the 5th cause of death for women at childbearing age. The
Mycobacterium tuberculosis pulmonary (MT) infection
in pregnancy is considered to be a rare case, the sensitive
population being rather of precarious socio-economic
condition. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported
9 million cases of tuberculosis in 2013, of which 37%
concerning women. In 2011, about 216.500 women were
infected during pregnancy. Starting from the case of a
pregnant woman diagnosed with tuberculosis, presenting
the suggestive symptomatology during pregnancy and
post-partum fever, we shall present the tuberculosis
management in pregnancy and in immediate post-partum.
We shall approach the situation of discovering the disease
during pregnancy and post-partum. The positive diagnosis
is made by identifying the MT in culture or in sputum, in
the bronchoalveolar fluid or other textures; the IDR test
at tuberculin may be negative during pregnancy due to
the particular immune condition. The WHO guidelines
consider the medication used during pregnancy safe for
the fetus. Pregnancy tuberculosis is associated with an
increased risk of intrauterine fetal death, premature birth,
intrauterine growth restriction and oligohydramnios. The
vertical transmission is very rare, a few hundreds of cases
have been reported. The maternal mortality in untreated
cases of tuberculosis associated with pregnancy is 100%. In
conclusion, tuberculosis associated with pregnancy increases
