Rezumat: Peritoneal tuberculosis is a very rare location of tuberculosis even in high endemic countries such as Romania. It is a delayed diagnosis disease due to insidious clinical course, nonspecific nature of the clinical examination, of the imaging investigations results and of the cytogenetic or biochemical appearance of ascites fluid. We present the case of a 27-year-old young immunocompetent patient, with small abdominal lymphadenopathy and unknown cause ascites, originally labeled as carcinomatous lymphangitis. Tuberculous etiology confirmation by biopsy and/or BK bacteriological is the gold standard for diagnosis. The therapeutic regimen includes four anti-TB drugs for a period of minimum 6 months and corticosteroid association in the first months of treatment. Disease progression under therapy is favorable.
Cuvinte cheie: peritoneal tuberculosis, exploratory laparotomy, epithelioid granuloma with gasification anti tuberculosis treatment.
